Chiefs Journey - Gary Leon
I have this beautiful cedar carved panel by Northwest Coast Salish Artist Gary Leon. Gary studied at the Northwest Coast of Indian art in Ksan. It is now about 20 years old and is developing a very nice patina.
This dynamic piece called "Chiefs Journey" and displays the chief carved into Red Cedar and painted in Red and Black with a paddle carved from yellow cedar. The Chiefs headpiece at the bottom corner is carved from Alder. The panel itself is approx 3 inches thick. It measures 24 x 36. It is signed by Gary Leon. I purchased it directly from the artist.when he was in a time of need.
